How it works

How Z works.

Z is your always-on assistant. You connect your inbox, drive and CRM. Z does the repeat work overnight and shows you what to approve in the morning.

Security โ€” your data stays yours.

Z connects to your apps in read-only mode. It can look at your inbox, drive and bank statements to understand your work โ€” but it cannot send emails, move money, delete files or change anything on your behalf without your explicit approval.

Your connections use the same secure sign-in (OAuth) that apps like Slack and Notion use. Tokens are encrypted, never shared, and you can revoke Z's access from your Google or Microsoft account at any time. Every action Z proposes waits for your one-tap approval on WhatsApp before anything happens in the real world.

After your 10 free emails.

Emailing Z is the trial โ€” 10 free runs to prove it on your own work. Here's the next step so Z can keep going, unattended, on schedule.

  1. 1
    You've hit 10 runs. Nice.

You've proven Z works on your real work. You get a 7-day grace window to keep going while you decide what to wire up next.

  2. 2
    Connect your apps.

Gmail, Google Drive, your bank feed and WhatsApp. This is what turns one-off email prompts into recurring, unattended work โ€” Z can now read and write on your behalf and reply in-thread from your own Gmail.

  3. 3
    Activate workflows + upgrade.

Approve the workflows Z has already proposed (or add your own). Upgrade so the schedule keeps running past the grace window and Z stays on overnight.

Nothing gets deleted when the grace window ends โ€” your workflows and proposals stay put. They just pause until you upgrade or connect the apps that let Z run them without asking.

What Z does for you.

Sorts and drafts replies to your email
Chases unpaid invoices until they're paid
Reads bank statements and categorises them
Files receipts into the right folders
Writes monthly reports for your clients
Handles CVs, contracts and supplier orders

Anything you do more than once a week โ€” Z can do it.

Four steps. That's it.

  1. 1
    Connect

Gmail, Drive, your bank, WhatsApp. Two-minute setup.

  2. 2
    Watch

Z learns your patterns from the last 30 days. Nothing changes yet.

  3. 3
    Approve

Z shows you what it wants to do. You tap yes on WhatsApp.

  4. 4
    Run

Once approved, it runs on its own, every day, forever.

The role Z plays

Z acts like your Chief of Staff.

Z is not just a workflow runner. Once you approve a workflow, Z watches what it did, learns how your business actually runs, and builds a working memory of your vendors, clients, cadence, cash, and preferences.

That memory is what lets Z understand the next thing you ask for without you re-explaining the context. It spots new work you could hand off, flags when something looks off versus your own history, and executes new opportunities with the judgment of someone who already knows how you operate.

The more workflows you approve, the sharper Z gets. The Business Brain is the living record of that memory โ€” you can see, edit, or forget any of it on Business Brain.

Two ways to add workflows.

Z proposes workflows for you, and you can also describe your own. Once you approve one, it lives inside its topic folder โ€” Finances, Sales, Admin, Recruitment, Reports โ€” right alongside every result it produces. One place per topic, not two.

Auto Workflow
Z scans and proposes

From Get Started onward, Z reads the last 180 days of your inbox and drafts a report of workflows it can automate โ€” grouped by area, with confidence and evidence. It keeps watching after that. You approve, edit, or reject each one.

Best for: discovering work you didn't know was automatable.
Manual Workflow
You describe, Z drafts

Type what you want automated in plain English โ€” trigger, action, where it lands. Z drafts it and sends it to your drafts list. Approve to activate and it runs on schedule.

Best for: workflows you already know you want.

Approved workflows from both paths land in your Approved folders โ€” one place to see everything Z is running. Each run shows a plain-English title and a direct link to the stored result.

Email Z from anywhere.

The moment you sign up, Z gives you your own private inbox address โ€” something like alex-9f2c1d@in.agent-z.app. No DNS, no setup โ€” just copy it from Connections and start writing to it like you'd write to an assistant. Z runs the prompt end-to-end and, if Gmail is connected, replies in the same thread from your own address.

Forward a receipt

Just forward the email. Z extracts the vendor, amount and VAT, files it under Finances and drops the PDF into Drive.

Ask for a report

"Weekly sales summary for last week, top 5 clients by revenue." Z pulls the numbers and replies with the report.

Chase an invoice

Forward the unpaid invoice with "chase this weekly until paid." Z schedules the reminders and confirms once it's cleared.

Save a note

"Remember that Acme prefers PDF invoices, not links." Z stores it in your Business Brain and uses it next time.

Attachments (PDFs, images, spreadsheets) are read the same way Z reads anything else โ€” extracted, filed and remembered. Every email prompt lands in the right topic folder alongside the result, so you can find it later without hunting through your inbox. Your first 10 email runs are free โ€” after that, see the next step below.

The moat

Your business brain gets smarter with every run

Every workflow Z completes for you โ€” manual or scheduled โ€” feeds a think tank that quietly learns your vendors, clients, cadence, and cash patterns. Z uses it to flag when a number looks off vs your own history and to suggest new workflows worth automating. You can see exactly what Z has learned (and forget any of it) on Business Brain.

Self-checking

Every workflow checks its own work against a rubric

Each workflow ships with a small list of success criteria. After Z runs it, an independent grader reads the output in a fresh context and scores it against the criteria. If anything failed, Z retries with the grader's feedback โ€” up to a few attempts โ€” before shipping the result. You see the status on every run: green means passed, amber means it tried and flagged what's still off.

Verified facts get remembered and re-used the next time โ€” so Z reads its own prior notes before re-deriving anything. Guesses stay labelled as guesses until a fresh tool result confirms them.

Where it plugs in.

Two ways. That's it.
